I have to say that I didn't like this one quite so much as Shadowbridge. I felt a bit left down by the ending and wasn't as convinced by the pairing of Leodora and Diverus/Orfeo because it was so sudden. I think that focussing on the plot actually worked to the book's detriment because it was a rather conventional plot for an unconventional setting. Therefore, I felt let down.
Nevertheless, there were some nice elements to this book and taken with the first book, it's an interesting series and one I don't regret taking the time to read. I wouldn't mind reading more of Gregory Frost's work.
I remember feeling the second wasn't as strong as the first, but I would like to, one day, read the two books back-to-back and just see how I feel on a second read!
