Can't say I'm a huge fan of the cover, but after considering your review, I think I'll pass on this one. :)

Got this book (in a store), paused in reading it....I'll have to see if I have the same reactions when reading it. :)

BTW, did I ever say you have the greatest lj name?

Awww, thanks! Personally, I'm loving your icon! It's adorable!

When you finish the book, I'd love to hear your thoughts. :)

Ironically...I like the concept. I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE the cover. It's too dark, too angsty, too gothy-ish looking.

Ha, go figure! Well, just don't look at the cover when you read it. :) But what do you think of the cover of the second book, the one with the red bird?

I'll look forward to your thoughts on this one! :)

I suspect it reminds me too much of Drizzt. Heeeeere's Drizzt! A lot of people in our age group LOVE THE HELL out of him. I'm not much for game-tie-in novels, even if the game is a pen and paper RPG, but I think Drizzt would have annoyed me regardless. "OH WOES IS MEEEEEE I IS THE ONLY GOOD MEMBER OF A SPECIES OF EVIL ELF VAMPIRE THINGS, I WUV A HUMAN I WILL OUTLIVE BY CENTURIES AND THE WHOLE WORLD WILL HATE OUR BABIES. ANGST ANGST ANGST ( ... )

You think the woman on the second cover looks like Angelina Jolie? Just based on the chin? Or are you referring to the cover of the third book? :)

I can see your point in terms of comparison, but I don't think you'll have trouble here. People aren't that pitiful in this book, you just feel really bad for them.

Which heroine are you referring to? The one I didn't like or Piro, the only female with a POV?

*laughs*

Does my reaction sound violent? I suppose it does, in Elina's case. :)

If you're gonna read the second book, I'll be reading that review closely, because you'll be able to tell me if the issues I have here carry over.

I think it's the same artist too. Both authors have the same publisher.
