The Firefly-themed production of Pirates of Penzance that I teched for at the beginning of the quarter is getting a reprise! Someone wants to set up a big new scholarship and as publicity for it (don't ask me what the logic of this is; I have no clue) they're paying us to run the show for another weekend, in June

Oh, I know there are neurotypical people around, it just feels like there aren't some days. My mother is actually one of them as well; she at least understands that I can't just choose not to be sad, but we had some extremely frustrating discussions over Christmas about me getting behind in classes due to a depressive episode and "you've been in this position before, you know the signs - so why did you / how could you let yourself get in that position again?"

As an aside, my mother's neurotypical but thankfully I have friends who aren't because she doesn't get it. At all.

Thanks! I was worried I might have been getting a little carried away there, so it's good to hear people appreciate it.

People who don't get it are really frustrating, especially when they're family. I'm glad you have friends who understand you better to support you.
