There are a lot of pissed off customers in my store insisting that their gun rights are about to be taken away now that Obama and the Democrats are "taking over." Seriously? Gun rights? That's a major issue at this point in time? I'm sorry, did you check you bills lately? I'm more concerned with my money, thank you. "Obama's gonna kill babies ( Read more... )

A draft wouldn't have happened. It would have made people realize that there is actually a war going on. Young people would be forced to do something in order to avoid going to Iraq. The backlash would not be what the government wanted.

Actually, I think gun rights, abortion, and religion are huge issues. Obama cannot fix the economy. We are probably going to be stuck in a rut for at least 8 years, if not 10.

Even so, the fact that Bush did consider it, bothers me. He seriously sat down and thought about sending other people's kids out into a war his drunken daughters would never be a part of. So no, it never happened, but for a man to thrust himself so recklessly into a war that we never should have started and then to have the audacity to think that he could possibly throw away even more young lives by force? That's fucked up.

Gun rights, abortion, and religion need to take a back seat with the war, job crisis, and the economy. I have strong opinions on all of these matters, but the way I see it, we have bigger issues at hand. And I'm not saying Obama will fix the economy entirely. I know we're in deep shit, but at the very least, we can try to get jobs back for people who lost them. Obama even said that the issues at hand are extremely difficult and that these is no quick fix. It'll take a long time for things to work out. I doubt that we'll be out of damn debt in my life time, but we can always hope.
