My exciting feelings about the Avengers and also Iron Man

May 06, 2012 18:07

I'm not unhappy that my flist is filled with Avengers joy, merely jealous, oh the pain. I wouldn't mind seeing it, but as I may have mentioned once or twice SO FAR AWAY CINEMA. Also, I would be required to watch Captain America (wouldn't mind admittedly) and both bloody Iron Man movies before going (oh, and I HAVE TRIED THAT BEFORE), since I am ( Read more... )

BLACK WIDOW WAS THE BEST AVENGER! She manipulated the God of Lies and Mischief. That awesome.

(I hope the rumor she gets a movie is true, but IDK. Also I'd kind of want JW to write/direct it as well and it might be conflicting)

eta: have you seen Thor yet? Because that one is also a bit necessary.

I agree with this comment quite hard.

(Do see Thor! It is the best of the prequels IMO!)

Thor's the one I've actually seen! With MUCH PRESSURE, but I ended up enjoying it Quite A Lot, yes.

I've never done this before, but I'm reading fic about her when I've not seen the source, I haven't even read any of her comics. I just think she looks really cool. And has a smashing name, her real one, I mean. Though her superhero one's not to shabby either.

i have been hearing this rumor about a movie for her too! and quite persistently, and read an article where Scarlet was talking about it as if it was a very likely possibility.

Everyone else got a movie, darnit. And, really, it would be Quite Nice to have a Decent Movie with a female superhero as the lead. There aren't exactly a lot and the only one I can think of that wasn't pretty dreadful is Supergirl, and that's older than I am.

yessss i know it would be lovely. i would be so happy! and given how they handled her in the Avengers I actually for the first time have some confidence in them being able to do a good job with a movie about her? and i want it now.

Does a movie with an unstoppable spy count?

Personally I really enjoyed Salt (only watch the director's cut - most DVDs seem to include three versions so pick that one) and (when I was younger) I was a pretty big fan of the first Tomb Raider movie. I think Angelina Jolie is probably the best female action star we have right now with Scarlett Johanson seeming like the nearest contender (and I'm disinclined to state that confidently until I've seen "Avengers Assemble" - why the hell is that the title in the UK????). I suppose there's Milla Jovovich (ridiculously skinny because apparently that's what people find attractive, but I think she's actually a properly brilliant actress) but those Resident Evil movies have just been dire (though "Ultraviolet" was genuinely in the realm of so-bad-its-good).

Oh hang on.... Uma Thurman in the Kill Bill movies. Action movie BADASS! :D

But yeah, as far as actual "superhero" movies go, what have we got? Elektra? :S

Clearly the best female superhero movie is "The Powerpuff Girls" :D

I LOVE BLACK WIDOW SO MUCH! I didn't expect to, because I felt she was a bit bland in IM2, but she was amazing. People who say she's only there for T&A are revealing their own sexism, imho.

I spent yesterday reading her comics, and at some point I plan to hit AO3.

I'm still about to go watch IM and IM2, just in case I missed something.

Also, I need to examine RDJ's chest. For science.

A rewatch sounds good right about now. For research and uh... science. Yeah. Science. Nice pectoral science.

Can I include Steve Rogers' ass as research as well? Because DAMN.

In comics, Tony's facial hair has been known to change between panels when the artist forgets what he did last time...

I didn't see Iron Man for about three years after it came out because I too had terrible memories of that cartoon being the most boring of all the Marvel ones that were on the telly. Not a patch on X-Men for pre Live and Kicking telly in my opinion. I had actually forgotten the beard so that was a terrible flashback there.

Black Widow was also awesome is ways other people have described much more accurately.
