My exciting feelings about the Avengers and also Iron Man

May 06, 2012 18:07

I'm not unhappy that my flist is filled with Avengers joy, merely jealous, oh the pain. I wouldn't mind seeing it, but as I may have mentioned once or twice SO FAR AWAY CINEMA. Also, I would be required to watch Captain America (wouldn't mind admittedly) and both bloody Iron Man movies before going (oh, and I HAVE TRIED THAT BEFORE), since I am ( Read more... )

BLACK WIDOW WAS THE BEST AVENGER! She manipulated the God of Lies and Mischief. That awesome.

(I hope the rumor she gets a movie is true, but IDK. Also I'd kind of want JW to write/direct it as well and it might be conflicting)

eta: have you seen Thor yet? Because that one is also a bit necessary.

I agree with this comment quite hard.

(Do see Thor! It is the best of the prequels IMO!)

Thor's the one I've actually seen! With MUCH PRESSURE, but I ended up enjoying it Quite A Lot, yes.

I've never done this before, but I'm reading fic about her when I've not seen the source, I haven't even read any of her comics. I just think she looks really cool. And has a smashing name, her real one, I mean. Though her superhero one's not to shabby either.

if it helps you get into Iron Man, she's in a lot of the second one.

you might be fine to watch Iron Man 2, CA and Thor and skip IM1.

Oooooh. I didn't know that! And now suddenly Tony Stark seems a lot more bearable.

Other things that might make Tony Stark bearable:

1) A lot of the first movie is about him growing from an utter jerk into a somewhat less jerky jerk. And while Tony is the hero, the movie does seem to understand, and acknowledge as perfectly reasonable, the overwhelming desire to hit him with a brick sometimes.
2) Pepper Potts. Seriously, she has no superpowers and no super suit, but she is damn good under pressure. Also, she's kind of like Jeeves to Tony's Wooster, if Wooster were a genius who fought evildoers. I mean, yes, he's smart, but it's perfectly obvious that if it weren't for Pepper, he could locate neither his ass nor his driver's license.
3) Banter. Lots of it.

As it turned out, I still can't stand him, but I did love The Avengers movie nonetheless.

To be honest I hope they don't give Whedon the Black Widow origin film, as I gather there's stuff in her comics backstory about what the Russians may or may not have done to her psychologically or physically that would send Whedon's yukkier fetishes out of control again.
