There is a thing that has been bugging me for a couple of days, it is APPALLINGLY TRIVIAL, but never mind. Thus there is this poll which I shall Explain Later (there are no options for fence-sitters because neutrality is NOT FOR POLLS.):

Well now people are voting for Empire Strikes Back so I am forced to conclude there is something very wrong going on with the universe indeed.

I would say that I wanted to hear the reasons people had for voting for Empire, but that would mean ACKNOWLEDGING THEY EXIST. So. :( :(

OBVIOUSLY it's A New Hope, mostly because of Luke's astounding amounts of whininess.

It's... kind of breaking my heart that Return of the Jedi is in the lead. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE? IT IS A PERFECT MOVIE OF PERFECTNESS, with added Ewoks.

It's weird. I enjoy RotJ more but I think ANH is a stronger movie.

And I love the Ewoks. They're so tiny and bloodthirsty.

Agreed w/r/t Ewoks. They are rather badass (it takes a certain amount of guts to take out an AT-AT that's about twenty to fifty times your size), and if they're stereotypes, well, Gungans.

I... honestly can't vote in this poll, because I simply can't deem any of these as "worst" after having seen the prequel trilogy.

This also true. I was wondering where the vote was for "TPM" or one of the other prequels, and then realized this was for the *original* trilogy.

Problem is, there is much about the Prequelogy 'verse that is pretty; Lucas just doesn't know how to plot or script.

OR DIRECT. I have some Pretty Low Standards for sciffy, but the endless scenes of people walking then stopping as they talk or TALKING WHILE SITTING ON A COUCH was pretty impressive in its banalness.

While I don't think any of the three are bad, I do have a least favorite, and that least favorite is Empire Strikes Back. Most people would not contest (or, at least, be less likely to contest) my liking Star Wars over Empire, but why do I like it less than Return of the Jedi

I do hope that this is sarcastic, because these are my reasons for not liking Jedi as much as New Hope and Empire.

Off-topic, but it says under your post that you edited your post. I didn't even know that was possible because I've never seen an edit button for a reply post. If you don't mind my asking, how did you do that?

I voted for ANH, not because it's especially bad or anything but because it's the one I want to rewatch the least. In some ways, I do think Empire is actually the worst because the structure is a bit all over the place (seriously, how long does the Falcon chase last? How long is Luke on Dagobah? HOW DO THESE THINGS MATCH TOGETHER?!) but it's EMPIRE and I love it.

And Jedi is THE BEST STAR WARS FILM and people will LIE about this because they do not understand things. It is BEAUTIFUL and full of glorious angst and cute Ewoks which represent the underdog rising up which is what Star Wars is really about. And they're cute. So there. *coughs*
