That is a nice sized hummingbird.

It is really cool that they put a wreck out with the intent of creating an ecosystem for snorkelers. Looks like they have been successful with it too. Any idea what kind of fish the ones with the beaks are? They looked really cool.

About 3.5"-4.5" I would guess. What I imagine is that standard size for a hummingbird.

Actually, that is done fairly often, these days. A lot of the wrecks that I've been on have been purposely put there for divers or snorkelers. The historical ones tend to be a bit more ... well, boring. A lot of those are so covered in coral, you can barely even tell there IS a wreck.

I believe the beakies are a type of needlefish, but I can't seem to determine which one. All the photos I find the fish have long upper and lower jaws. The ones I saw had a short upper jaw and long lower.

It's a smart thing to do then considering a good portion of their income is from tourism or so I would assume.

Maybe they are an offshoot species or young ones that haven't developed completely.

You assume correctly. Basically all of the Caribbean Islands get the vast majority of their income from tourism. Some of them also partake in the petroleum industry, and others export things like rum. But those are all sidelines.

Both are entirely possible. I know next to nothing about fish species. (Something I ought perhaps to remedy at some point.)
