Warning: Rant ahead.

Skip if you'd like.

This rant is over this article, on the proposed amendment banning same-sex marriages in the US. All of this is my opinion, and I'm warning you now--I am very opinionated. So don't whine at me if you don't agree, m'kay? :D

Rant Inside. )

Well said, well said. Much better than I could have put it. Do you mind if I link you in my journal?

Well, the article does say that few believe it'll get the required 2/3 vote to pass, and they certainly are within their rights to propose the law, but still--that's just outrageous. >.>

And I agree completely.

I've been expecting this since Canada legalized it. Ah, Bush, you are something. What, I cannot say...

I think one of the major things that irk me about marriages and civic unions is that they don't get the same rights. Homosexual partners don't get the same hospital visiting rights as het, or benefits, or anything like that. It's unfair to families who need those rights, especially those with kids who have medical bills. Most people don't recognize that fact because the uninformed believe that homosexuals can't have families - they just want the sex.

I'd seen that stuff about Leviticus before. (Sucks that the link doesn't work at the mo :/) I would so love to ask about that in my church, but my whole congregation is blatantly against gay marriage and the like, so I'd probably get mobbed XD; it's a sad sad thing.

I hope this doesn't pass through. All the gay people should move to Canada, XD may be a little colder but hey, we get more fun.

Agreed entirely. People out here are trying to inform other people about it, but there's just so much ignorance on the matter.

._. My own county made same-sex marriages illegal last year. In response, we actually had a big group of students from our school rally at the courthouse one day. It was nice to see that we got a good response to that, at least... though they still haven't revoked that law. :\

Is it sad I didn't know the stuff about Leviticus until I saw an icon about it? I can't even remember where it is now ._. I think I've got it saved at home... But I went out and looked it up myself afterward. X3 Veeeery interesting to see what all's said to be a sin, when it happens every day. And as for the link--it's actually a breakdown of the Hebrew and Latin versions of the Bible, and it touches a little on how the Hebrew reads. 's very~ interesting.

I'm hoping it doesn't pass, either--truth to be told, I doubt it will. But just that they're even daring to bring it up... *shakes head* asshattery at its finest.
