As always I loved your summary, and agreed with 99.9% of your comments and squee.
I never feel like I've had the FULL episode experience until you've explained the significance of the boys ties, pointed out any and all re-uses of locations and props(spikey clock) and reminded me of all the hanging plot points that are sure to come back and bite the boys on their a**es!
Just one thing, you wrote '-"Where's Garth?"/"On a case or at the dentist, I dunno I haven't heard from him." Could be a ghost dentist... *ponders*' remember Garth IS a dentist.
This was actually a pretty good episode to say who wrote it. But jeez, they made all that fuss in season 4 about how hard it was for Castiel to get Dean out of Hell, and Sam just meanders on in there and leads Bobby out without even breaking much of a sweat.
I'm thinking that open cell door was also a bit of a sign that Crowley or someone was clearing the path quite a lot for Sam, but I'm not sure why. Given Bobby's history with demons and Crowley in particular, it also seems unlikely to me that he'd just be hanging out in the general lockup area with a bunch of others and not getting the star treatment, so to speak. I suspect some kind of plotting going on there, but I don't know what. I suppose it might have been Naomi's crew, but I have no idea what she's up to, really.
Also: Sooo. Bobby is a Tori Spelling fan who had a life-changing pedicure at the mall once. Hidden depths, I tell you. Not that hidden. I'm pretty sure he 'fessed up to that when Dean was under Veritas' curse. Although I do wonder when Dean spilled those juicy details to Sam. Certainly not back then.
Also also: This is a very huggy season for Dean. (Benny, Sam, Cas in Purgatory, Garth, Benny and Sam again - am I missing any?) Six so far, I think that's more than the previous seven seasons combined...

I'd forgotten about that. I'd say he probably mentioned it to Sam at some point in the car after things got less prickly. They have to talk about something after all.
This is a very huggy season for Dean.
Dean always needs more hugs. So does Sam, and Bobby, and Kevin, and Castiel, and every other adopted or semi-adopted Winchester. Hugs are good. :-)
Oh is it really? That sounds like proof that someone on the writing staff is a fan of it, which I think you said after seeing that Dean in Hell scene at the end of season 3.
