"...or is he the Supernatural kind of alive/not dead where Sam is going to have to dispatch his girlfriend's undead husband..." That never even occurred to me...

As usual, I am incredibly impressed at your predictions of the plot twist :)

And you can pat yourself on the back for spreading your weird view of the world...when screencaps started appearing after the ep I found myself studying the boys' ties and wondering what you were going to say about the boys' relationship from them!

That never even occurred to me...

I figured there was going to be something weird about what happened to Amelia's husband, or something about Amelia herself, but the miraculous 'he's alive' coupled with Sam's speech with "eventually, whatever it is you're running from? It'll find you." in it made it seem like a logical option.

I found myself studying the boys' ties and wondering what you were going to say about the boys' relationship from them!

Eeeep. O.o

Okay I admit I said I wanted to see Sam the angel again BUT I didn't mean as Crowley's chew toy! Somebody rescue that poor angel and get an update as to what is going on in Heaven these days. I'm thinking that maybe Raphael & his buddies weren't as popular as they were powerful and maybe your average Celestial being is secretly pleased that Cas cleaned house. Cas laid waste to those who opposed him - what was the deal with those who didn't? Maybe the majority agreed with Cas on the whole humankind issue and didn't want it all destroyed just to go "home".

I agree that Fred should get a selection of music, not that Ode to Joy isn't beautiful, but I am assuming he has a few years to go yet and deserves a little variety for his sacrifice.

I see Amelia got her obnoxiousness honestly. I get Daddy's not happy with Amelia's choice in companion but he didn't have to be nasty to Sam. Parenting 101: when child shows up with undesirable playmate, don't pick on the playmate, it just makes the child cling harder.

I figure Amelia's dad is probably still grieving her husband, and that both being in the same branch of the military (I think?) and Don getting killed in action probably made a guy he probably thought very well of already practically into a saint. Seeing Sam as a lesser interloper would put him in a very adversarial mood. You are completely right about picking on her playmate though.

Fred needs a mental iPod.

Well, honestly I don't know many veterinarian's parents who would consider maintenance person as an acceptable match for their very well educated child. But transitional relationships are a normal part of reality. He was bright enough to figure out Sam's appeal, why sweat it, as it won't likely last? I know drama needs conflict, stupid characters why can't you all just get along?

It would be interesting if Don came back supernatural but I doubt it. I think it more likely that Amelia might not be quick to welcome him back. She felt a little abandoned by his running off to do his patriotic duty. It seemed like she hadn't signed on to be a military wife but had it suddenly thrust upon her.

Was it Mike Farrell you were comparing to Harry Morgan? 'Cause that's really quite spooky.

THANK YOU for identifying the sweet old lady for me! Totally the same one from Bedtime Stories! Was driving me nuts trying to figure out where I'd seen her before!

I also liked Amelia's dad, but kept wanting Sam to call him Jerry. (Phantom Traveler.) At least we now might have a sort-of reason why Sam would leave Amelia that doesn't make him a complete scumsucker if he left so she could go back to her hubby.

Caaaaaaas! I definitely think he was channeling Columbo. And I would quite happily watch him interrogate a cat for a whole episode.

*googles Mike Farrell*

...Wow, yeah, that's spooky. I never watched much M.A.S.H., but that's just wild. I would never have recognized him. O.o

I'm not certain it's the same actress exactly, but it's the same look. I couldn't read the credits so I don't know for sure. I completely missed that Stan was Jerry, though. Obviously I need to rewatch season one.

I'm thinking Castiel interrogating the cat must turn up as a missing scene fanfic by someone at some point.
