I gave it a close re-listen on half-speed (which is funny because everyone sounds soooo drunk XD) and Amelia's dad's name sounds like Stan to me.

There's an alveolar stop just after the S, Amelia pronounced it a bit voiced (almost as a 'd' rather than a 't', running the stop into the vowel) so it is misleading to the ear and tends to blur the name. I also think if they had had the same name, Amelia might have emphasized that more as a neutral conversation starter and a source of desperately needed common ground of any sort between her dad and Sam.

ETA: Also, your icon is awesome. WTF indeed. XD

I made this icon for examining things more closely. In the original image the flashlight beams weren't as bright so I brightened them with spotlight effects.

There is always and will always be a use for a WTF icon. XD

Welcome to the show, glad you enjoy the reaction posts, a lot of the older ones (pre-mid season 5 I think are just me babbling, no screencaps, so fair warning. That 7 season marathon must have been an intense introduction; a lot of stuff has happened over the past several years!

Cas had some really great faces in this episode. He's come a long way in expressing a variety of emotions since he first became embodied.

The more I think about it, the more "Don came back wrong" seems like a likely possibility.
