hmmm....now I could have sworn Dean swore 'to serve' rather than 'to the service of', which isn't quite the same thing :)

Need to re-watch when I get back from work.

also....he didn't always do exactly what Papa said ;)

Particularly when Sam is involved.

the fight scene....was that real-Dean or Sam's-head-Dean?

I'm pretty sure that was real Dean. Sam's DT hallucinations would have gone away after he got dosed by Ruby.

Kripke....not sure if I trust him, but totally along for the ride :)

I agree with every flail and "guh" and lack of ability to be coherent. That is how I spent most of the episode. I think that the Ackles/Padalecki team really went all out and were fantastic beyond even how wonderful they normally are. Especially Jared. He has kicked his acting up a notch every year and always managed to impress me. But this was full-out-in-league-with-Jensen episode for Jared. This was the first time that I think they really went toe-to-toe on the same acting level. Talk about knowcking it out of the park ( ... )

You know, I think you're right. *flails at the awesome*

All of it is horrible and heart-wrenching. But I love it and, like you, am chosing to trust Kripke & Co.

Yay! \o/

I really should have gone with the blanket and stuffie--craaaaaaap. Oh and I agree that Sam must be possessed--no detox I know of kicks the shit out of you like that;) I spent most of the episode having chest pains and trying not to cry everywhere--damn Jensen's eyes anyway:P Jared....I am still trying to piece together some sense here. Still hoping everything will be ok, hanging onto trust in Kripke. *Nods*

YES. This episode hurt (did anyone notice the awful gasping/wheezing both boys did? Ouch!)

Also? My new favorite phrase is "holy flaming flapdoodles!"

I haven't managed to listen to it on headphones yet, but now I really need to!

Hee! I have no idea where I got it from, but it's a very evocative phrase useful in many situations.

and they're both doing it because they care about each other so damn much.
That is the stupidest stupidy stupid thing about this fight! Or hell, about the entire Sam vs Dean thing. It's, like, not even Sam vs Dean, intrinsically, it's really just them fighting about who wants to protect who, who wants to keep the other out of harm, who loves the other more... ARG.

That mirror-cam shot was the most annoying thing in the history of ever.
Ooo, Ooo! I found a good short meta for any possible meanings of that annoying mirror-cam shot. It's actually pretty amazing, the implications of a little (albeit odd) mirror shot...

Exactly. Like so many family fights. I love this show!

I found a good short meta for any possible meanings of that annoying mirror-cam shot.

I kind of thought later it was a surrogate assault on the viewer's perception of the situation, as attacks on the eye often are in film (like the eyeball being sliced open in Le Chien Andalou), but really, if that's the case it was serious and rather cartoony overkill. We're assaulted already, thanks :-)

I'll go read that meta though.
