I love activism. I love causes, I love conviction, I love education, I love passion, I love making/seeing/being change. I love buttons, stickers, slogans, signs, t-shirts, mascots. I love people coming together for the common good, to raise awareness, money, support, morale ( Read more... )

Thanks, Jake.

And yes, I blame satanic music for all of my inappropriate behavior. As should you.

In other news, I watched a documentary this week (The Education of Shelby Knox) in which Rev. Ed Ainsworth of Lubbock, Texas, a now international abstinence advocate (thank goodness he goes to Africa and speaks out against condom use because condoms are a huge problem there), had these gems to share with us...

-liberalism and Christianity don't mix well
-Christianity is the most intolerant religion in the world, and when I hear you talk it worries me because I hear tolerance. (Spoken to Shelby Knox, who is fighting for comprehensive sex ed in public schools.)
-Jesus loves a homosexual as much as he loves a murderer. (Obviously this ass hole has never opened a Bible, because, if I recall, Jesus hung out with lepers, prostitutes, and tax-collectors, all of whom might as well have been murderers in Biblical times.)

If you want to get real angry about fundamentalist Christianity, watch this film.

I love Washington DC. It is such a beautiful, exciting city. I wish I could have spent more time exploring there.

I would tell you to enjoy the movie, but in all likely hood, it will leave you frustrated, and hopefully charged up and ready to do something positive. I actually did enjoy the movie, in the sense that I enjoy experiencing "the other side" because it turns "the other side" into actual people. Human beings who think and feel just like me. Sometimes I forget that.
