I love activism. I love causes, I love conviction, I love education, I love passion, I love making/seeing/being change. I love buttons, stickers, slogans, signs, t-shirts, mascots. I love people coming together for the common good, to raise awareness, money, support, morale.
I do not like ignorance.
I hate lies. I hate apathy. Neither of these will bring you much, except trouble, loneliness, and emptiness. You don't need a cause to be happy, but how can caring about nothing bring you happiness? How can burying your head in the sand, lying to yourself, ignoring everything be a good thing? How is that fulfilling? It is not good for you and it is not good for anyone else. In fact, it often hurts others. It perpetuates and causes many of the problems others are working against.
I refuse to sit back and watch and do nothing. I refuse to contribute to what I am fighting against. I refuse to sit down. I refuse to shut up. I refuse to stop.
I only hope you can find it within yourself to do something, too.
