THE END OF ETERNITY by ISAAC ASIMOV

This was the first book by Isaac Asimov that I read (review) and I greatly enjoyed it. As I've mentioned time and again, I do love time travel as a theme so I naturally gravitated towards reading this book first (before his Foundation series; but more on that in another entry).

The concepts that Asimov employs are very detailed and intriguing, from the concept of Eternity to the notion of time and humanity's progress over the centuries. There's certainly that idea that this group of individuals are able to move through time, observing and controlling the course of humans events to a certain kind of outcome. But then there's still that large mystery of "hidden centuries" and the nature of humanity that gives the reader a sense that despite of the Eternals' overview of Time and History, there's still a sense of mystery in the universe, that even they don't have all of the answers.

It's been a year since I've read it but it was a great introduction for me to Asimov's works (with time travel involved!). I'm looking forward to reading his other works (which will crop up in another 100 Things entry ^_~)
