I have Byatt's Possession on my TBR list for this year (have to wait until the end of the school year though to read it---I want to really enjoy it, lol). I also want to read Bleak House at some point, the adaptation was fantastic =)
I was reading your profile and 1) awesome that you're into history! I studied history during my undergrad and loved reading about it growing up, 2) HBO's Rome kicked major butt.
I admit, the reason Possession caught my attention (other than the fact that a lot of groups on GoodReads were featuring it in their monthly group reads) was teh fact that Jeremy Northam is in the movie xD lol
Agreed, Gillian Anderson and the entire cast was just brilliant. I need to get the DVD sometime this year xD
Yay! :D Man, Doctor Who was epic! I laughed, I cried (lots of times) and I'm still reeling after that fantastic ending. I really love how RTD chose to end it all. Have you seen it yet too?
Favourite period adaptations/movies: P&P 05, North & South, Bleak House, Joyeux Noel, Anna Karenina, Titanic (yes, I count that :P) Favourite characters: Darcy :D, Lady Dedlock (Gillian Anderson fan here) Favourite classics (books, if any): haven't read many yet. but that's only because I didn't find time to read at all in the past four years (since I started studying) Favourite historical period/society (if any): 19th century, particularly England but also any other country, ancient Rome
Other interests/fandoms: huge X-Files fan, also Emergency Room, 30 Rock, Evanescence/Amy Lee, movies in general, all kinds of arts... Is your journal friends-only, partial or public?: mostly FO Anything else you'd like to add?:
Band of Brothers is awesome! I'm psyched that they're finally releasing a miniseries from the Pacific front (been hearing about it for years but it was never for certain when it was coming out) but nothing can ever replace the awesomeness of BoB xD
