The utter randomness of RL when Uni is over

What started out as a necessity due to RL seems to quickly become a bad habit... namely, not updating LJ regularly. Or, at least not as regularly as I used to.
Not that there is much to tell, now that uni is over and all my tests seem to have gone well. I did a big shopping spree in preparation of tomorrow's "End of Semester Cleaning Orgy"tm. Means

I read your long ramble! Heh.

I loved The Virgin Suicides. That is the only book by him that I have read. The others did not really interest me that much. I guess I will have to look into him a little more.

Well, the thing about "Middlesex" that initially caught my attention was the fact that it's about a medical condition where a male being (XY chromosomes) ends up looking like a female because of some enzyme defect.

His writing got me hooked. Funny enough, I have never even tried looking at translations of his work - I rarely do, preferring to read the book in the original language, even if I have to look up vocabulary to do so.

Oh god, well, that was a shock. Um, not certain yet what I feel about it beyond that. I actually recoiled and that's good right? A strong reaction? Also, I am only now realising that I have always thought Elvishness would have played a part on helping to preserve Maedhros and also that I don't think he was up there all the time he was a prisoner of Morgoth, and so I imagined him less, well, skeletal. Thank you for making me think about that, it clarified it for me. *hugs*

And the other two are gorgeous. I had fun imagining both Ecthelion and Fingon in that second one. Fingon and Maedhros are my OTP, but I'm not too precious about it and Ecthelion is pretty darned fine himself!

Now, can I steel myself to look at that drawing again? Hmmmm.

I was aiming at a strong reaction - I just hope that no one will feel offended. See, there's a distinct difference between not dying from starvation and not being affected by it at all. Even if Morgoth's minions had offered him food, I think that Maedhros would have been too proud to accept anything. Apart from the fact that orc food is yucky at best...

as far as the spamming goes, i got an external GB for free that has a simple encription script that prevents the web crawlers from getting to your guest book. has workedfor me, no more spam!

Well, it worked just fine on my GB until a week ago. Maybe it was just a prank. Anyway, he is NOT going to post in my GB ever again with that IP.
