sounds good to me too.. recording is a bit harsh, but definitly worth it to hear your voice when you aren't around. Thanks for posting. I would love to hear it when it is done, of course.

Um. Given that it was me singing into a phone -- hence the 'phone post' part of things -- I'd be more surprised if it wasn't harsh...

alternate transcription, because I have to have the words in front of me to understand a new song, and my browser took ladymondegreen's away when it played. *frowns at browser*

I went walking on the water
where the lake froze in December
and the ice was thin as paper
there was no one else around

And the air was full of secrets
Like a thousand dying embers
and I thought that I might never find my way
to solid ground

We're the children of the summer
but the winter came so fast
caught us naked in the blizzard
now the wise men say it's here to last.

I'm the daughter of a revolution
that I never asked to serve
and the choir sings hallelulia
to a god that I do not observe

we were children called to battle
we had nothing and we were strong
now they say our war is over
now they sing a different song -- but I'll sing

Remember all the choices -- I'll sing
Remember what it cost -- and I'll sing
Remember all the missing voices
of the fallen and the lost
