Pity there isn't a Workplace Cat available for curling-up-on-lap duties.

*longing eyes*

Man. Work would be SO much easier if there were a workplace kitty.

Someday I want to own an independant used book/music shop with huge overstuffed couches and chairs and a store-cat. Someday. *le sigh*

Not entirely original, since I know1 there's actually one2 of those somewhere in Seattle, but still a good idea. :)

1 Don't anyone ask me exactly where it is; I live near the other Washington [DC]. All I remember is it's somewhere near Easy Street Records and CD Trader...

2 ... and in trying to jog my memory, apparently there are at least THREE - listings for both "Horizon Books" and "Cat and Cannon Used Book Store" specify cats, but I don't think either one is the one I was in from the description. Now "Twice Told Tales" in the University District, that might be it. Or, it might not. Clearly, a bookstore with cats is a very good idea3 esp in Seattle. :)

3 I type this with one cat is huddled on my lap, one sucking up all the heat from the laptop fan, and one centered in the middle of the floor within stretching distance. Considering I can't get up or move without tripping over at least one, maybe this is a bit of a mixed blessing.

Powell's bookstore in Portland, Oregon has Fup the store cat. I know from the emails I get from them, not from actual experience visiting there. :)

Pain aside...the nipples poking through all and sundry was something that my ex-roommate (my husband's roommate for 10 years) would regularly point out to me. "Is it cold, Ang? Cuz your nipples are showing..." Thanks, dear, just what I didn't want to know, that you're obsessed with my chest. :)

Maybe they're just rebelling the bra?

I despise the work place frigid-air movement. Whoever came up with that plan needs to be punished soundly. My office is similarly freezing year round. I have to wear winter clothes in the summer just to try to keep somewhat warm. It's insane.

My work was like that, and I couldn't do anything for a while. Then I had to go to a work-mandated ergonomics class - where one of the rules it gave was that office temperatures should be no lower than 68 degrees F. I brought that back and waved it at them until they let me turn it up. Yay.

In many places *energy conservation* laws state that they aren't allowed to cool below 68. (or heat above it for that matter)

I find that ALWAYS wearing a slightly padded bra halps with that. As well as the everpresent Workplace Sweater(tm).

I empathize, though. Am now wincing in sympathy.
