Amazing book karma like whoa.

Friday after work, Chris and I wandered into Berkeley to meet up with Michael and see 'The Fog', reasoning that nothing reduces stress like a bad horror movie. (This is a fairly true statement if you happen to be, well, us. We're simple people, sometimes.) Since we couldn't quite make the five o'clock show -- not without rushing so much that it ( Read more... )

I love the girl with the silver eyes. I read it a billion and one times when I was a kid and spent a fair amount of time wishing MY mom had taken some of those drugs. Because then I could have blown the babysitter's hair off.

Ditto.

And once I discovered that book, I read everything the library had by her, especially What Could Go Wrong? -- which, in retrospect, was probably the worst book to give to Dad for bedtime read-aloud just before my solo cross-country airplane flight when I was 14. (I still got to go, though.)

I'm jealous.

I want a book about killer fungus eating London.

I've never seen it.

My life sucks.

What what what? When I lived in Berkeley from 89-95, there was a HPB on Telegraph in the block south of Dwight across the street from an amazingly decadent fondue restaurant. Did they do without for a while there?! Inconceivable!

I don't know about a HPB near Fondue Fred's, although there are a couple used bookstores in the vicinity of Telegraph & Dwight (and, therefore, near Fondue Fred's).

The Berkeley HPB, at least as long as I've lived in the East Bay, had been on Solano, on the Albany side of the tunnel near Zachary's Pizza, the Andronico's, and Pegasus. They moved from that location into the old Kresge Building at Shattuck and Center.

The Other Change of Hobbit has some call to be worried, but on the other paw, HPB had been right next door to Pegasus for years, and lo, Pegasus did not die, so there's hope.

I am looking for (and you might know where to find it) a book called "The Stupidest Angel". About zombies, of course.

I defintly know the joys of book karma.

After getting screwed out of a book twice by ebay I found it in a lot of 9 books(3 trilogys that I wanted). All for $37 plus $15 S&H. Which is great as the two other aucitons I had lost, both for the single book only, had closed at $50+.

One of the few times I have literaly gotten up and done the happy dance.
