We've never met, as far as I know; yet you always have something interesting and insightful to say. You're there to offer a hand when I'm feeling down, which is more than many people would do, and your contributions to discussions and conversations have led me to consider you smart, entertaining and lovely.
And on deadline, but stalling for another couple of minutes.
I don't think we have crossed paths in person, unless it was across a filk circle at the handful of late-80s Baycons I attended. This is a condition that must someday be remedied, however.
In a world where people are often encouraged to turn their brains off and be happy, you still think. More, you think well, completely, and think things through; your opinions are always solid and well-considered, even when they clash with mine. You rock.
For someone who was a dear friend in high school, and then somewhere entirely else for several years, you have remained remarkably important to me. I love hearing about your life and the ways in which it has changed, and I'm always delighted by your presence.
You are kind, loving, compassionate and talented; your willingness to reach out to people is without compare; your acceptance of communities for what they are, not what you could force them to be, is an inspiration.
You think of things that make me say 'I should have thought of that' in a vaguely irritated tone; you call the universe on its stupidity on a regular basis; you obsess on the minutia of life the same way that I do, and thus make me feel less surreal. For all of that and more, I do adore you.

(I still need to finish questions 4 and 5 from the last thing, but 4 takes Thought and Watching New Doctor, and 5 is something I need to draw.)
