A moment of girly, girly lust.

All right: if you've been reading this journal for any length of time, you know that I'm a total Lush Cosmetics addict. I admit it. I use my products carefully (I choose them even more carefully), I enjoy them greatly, and I take my time going through what I have...but that doesn't make me any less addicted. Right now, my hair smells of Big, ( Read more... )

primping, lush

I am seriously considering breaking down and placing a UK order. Because dude, I could kill for some Flying Fox Temple Balm, and there's no telling when it's going to get over here.

If you do, please let me know 'cause you know we'll save on shipping if we just lump everything together and do one larger order. I give you a check (or the other way round), you (or I) place the order, we pay less in shipping and thus life is good and we have happy Lush-ie things that make us go *SQUEE*!

You were right...Flying Fox may save my life and the lives of others over the next two months and change till the actual wedding. And the smell goes well with the body powder I'd gotten back a couple of months ago that I wear when I want to smell sexy.

That is...actually a really good idea. The dollar is currently running at about half a pound (which is horrifying in the extreme -- we have some weak currency right now, people), but the balms are about four quid each, while they retail at eight dollars in the States, so it'd really only be paying extra for the shipping.

I'd want one each of the new balms, plus probably some stuff for Mars; that's at least thirty/forty dollars out the gate. Add what you want, and that becomes reasonably practical.

Maybe we should.

I would so beg, borrow, or steal to try the Dream Time.

I know! Because dude, if it works? I am so never having issues falling asleep on a plane ever, ever again.

Which would rock. You know what else it would be good for? Falling asleep at con, in the whole 'strange bed and strange sounds' worries. Just that extra kick to knock you out deep to make sure you're nice and well-rested for when you finally give up the ghost and crash for the night.

My problem recently hasn't been actually going to sleep, though, it's been getting woken up during the high points in my circadians, because there's too much ambiant noise. White noise wouldn't help, because it keeps me awake; I just need more quiet.

Still, extra kicks when I need to go out fast? Nothing to sneeze at.

OK. It just so happens that 1) according to djbp Lush have opened a store in Peterborough, and 2) we're planning a trip to Peterborough in a bit under two weeks, and 3) in May we'll be flying to Minnesota. Would you like me to investigate the store and possibly transport supplies at least to more cost-effective shipping distance?

That may be a brilliant option! Both of you this time? I shan't be in Minnesota, but I'll wave from a distance and give you instructions to visit Izzy's and Maverick's.

Yes, we'll both be in MN and, hopefully, Colorado for a time as well. And I'd be happy to get directions and info for Izzy's and Maverick's! If we get stuff and bring it to the US it also makes shipping a heckuva lot easier.

Ok, between Cadhla lusting after this stuff & you visiting, you may very well get me to a) accompany you to the store when you visit and b) by some of these (never tried them before) for myself, too...

I like some of their bath bombs, but I consider them very expensive, at roughly 2 quid a bath... but yeah the dream time is appealing in both forms.

There is, however, postal abuse. We can Find A Way!

(Besides, I'll need something to swap you when the next round of Ponies hits, because Singapore almost always gets 'em first...)

Assuming I'm still here when the wave comes in, I will of course bow to your every whim, including buying MLPness for you. Because you're all adorable and stuff.

So what are your particular favourite lush things? Seanan's gone and analyzed the balms in details, I know you like lush stuff, but I don't recall which things you'd mentioned in previous posts...

I bought the Flying Fox tonight. We must be on a wavelength or something. For shower gel, it might have been too overwhelming for me -- as a balm, it's perfect.
