Maritime Greenwich.

Yesterday was spent roving Greenwich with a full fleet of Rafterys -- Anna and Emily for the morning and early afternoon, plus Joe in the late afternoon, plus Philomena (I'm sure that's spelled wrong) in the early evening. Anna's SO, Garreth, also joined us.

The gritty details... )

walking, shopping, concerts, good things, social life

Joe says I am allowed to pick your brain about Filomena and you must tell me what she's like and all.

Yay for what sounds like a wonderful day! I love the Greenwich markets - have wandered through them with Anja/induriel who lives, works & studies dance there since last summer. *hugs*

One thing I liked about the covered market at Greenwich, was the high proportion of traders dealing in green amber jewellery - is it to cater for all the Green Wiches in the neighbourhood I wonder?

The one time I actually got around to going to Greenwich was for a teambuilding day from work.

Lovely idea - boat-trip to Greenwich, visit to a new library in the morning (the work aspect of the trip), lunch together followed by an afternoon of wanderign around the markets - all was well until we discovered (after lunch) that the markets aren't there every day and the day we were there, they weren't. There isn't a lot else to attract me there - a few shops, a few buildings of interest

What a disappointment.

So glad you and the Raftery's had a good time. While you were there I was in the frozen north and regretting the fact that I hadn't taken the Raftery Hat-scarf with me. I really could have done with it - the wind in Warwickshire and Manchester are *cold* and my ears and neck really feel it with my hair so short.
