That our attraction transcends petty rules,
That we can love far more than just the form,
And say that other lovers must be fools.
And yet we superficially decree
That those we love must love the things we claim,
We bid them pledge to Marvel or DC,
And say our OTPs must be the same.
What accident of fate made us this way,
Chose comics or SF instead of some
Common hobby, game that we could play...
We are equations. We are not their sum.
Love who you love, and please do not demand
That they be scripted by a matching hand.
