I know it's pretense. I know that's not the reality. But I still try

Yes, but I'd also believe that it takes very little time to confirm that they're both me, whereas accusing me of plagiarism is a very bad thing, especially since I'm a writer, and does potentially lead to my shutting this journal down.

*hug* Good grief, really? There are people who've lost track of the fact these are two journals belonging to the same person? I'll admit, this would be hilarious if I didn't appreciate how irritating and problematic it is for you. As it is, I wish there were something useful I could (apart from promising to set the record straight if I encounter it).

People are sometimes amazingly thoughtless when they come out with this sort of thing, though. I find myself thinking of those cases where people swear that "Person A" borrowed a concept from "Person B", when "Person A" was _dead_ before "Person B" ever started writing...

I'm sorry. I can see how that would be very annoying for you, even to the level of being damaging. But .... it is also kind of funny, at the same time. People can be astonishing in their ignorance.

...I must admit that I find it slightly amazing that there are people who are not aware of your actual name. I suppose that is observer bias; I was linked to this journal by someone who knew of your CDs, and since your name is, well, on them, not to mention there's your website...

Would it be useful to post a very abridged version of this to your LJ Profile?

No. Because if I can't "ho-hum ignore the elephant in the corner" this journal, I have to shut it down. There's too much fanfic and other such material in the archives, it can't be filtered out.

I wish I could! But if I can't keep this journal sort of "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain," it gets shut down. That, or the archives are 100% locked, no exceptions. And I really want to avoid that.
