TTO 'Archetype Cafe.'
Talis is unlikely to kill me, I amuse her.
Chessie and Champ said, "It's really a shame
That people feel they should keep looking.
What about mystery, what about faith?
Do they really believe we're for hooking?"
Nessie just smiled enigmatically, for she's
Never much cared what her friends say,
And the Lake Monster's Secret Society meets
At the Cryptid Cafe every Tuesday...
Nessie confided to Altie and Bess
That she sometimes lets small children see her,
And men with their visionary eyes all aflame,
For she thinks that their stories can free her.
The Kraken was mixing eight cocktails at once,
To the evident delight of dear Kingstie,
And the Lake Monster's Secret Society meets
At the Cryptid Cafe every Tuesday...
And Manipogo chaired the meeting and gave
An impassioned plea for us to hear that the strange and
Mysterious creatures that history features
Should not be place where we end,
'Cause they'll tell you that Bigfoot's a legend, they'll tell you
That Spring-Heeled Jack's only a lie, and they'll make you a
Folktale or less as they try to repress
The things that they can't comprehend.
Mamlambo was tossing out kelp to the eels
Who measured much more than a meter,
And all of the women who turn into seals
Were singing of oceans much sweeter.
Isshii and Kusshii were dueling with words,
While Muckie told stories of Killarney,
And the Lake Monster's Secret Society meets
At the Cryptid Cafe every Tuesday...
And before Mani could thank the speakers
The questions rang out from the floor
We challenged our seekers' perceptions to change,
And we challenged the world even more
Oh they'll tell you they've scanned with their sonar, divers have
Sought us but only in vain, they'll tell you
Science discredits us, there's nothing there and
We deserve Darwin's disdain.
They'll tell you that...if they can't find us, then we can't exist,
And they just won't believe that we chose to be missed,
And the Lake Monster's Secret Society knows
That the longer it's hidden, the more a tale grows,
And if I could head down to the Cafe right now,
I'd book us all tables for Tuesday...
