Parody: Gone Filkin' (Spacecase Remix).

TTO 'Chess' by Juanita Coulson.
I'm not sure she knows who I am, so she can't hurt me.

I, the filker, form circles.
The shy girl stands alone.
I play a song about Terra's green hills;
She does not play us her own.

My friend said he would lure her
With songs about science and stars.
But still she's afraid,
Despite all we have played;
I wonder who gave her those scars?

But it's all right to sing;
        The filk has barely begun.
        One sweet night a bright new star will be seen,
        And we'll know that the waiting is done.

Gone filkin'
                Gone filkin'
                "You're welcome here!" we cried.
                Gone filkin'
                Gone filkin'
                No filker is denied.

The bardic ring's run can take hours.
We call her once again.
And out in the hallway the shy singer slips
Right up to the door and comes in.

The songs are the point of this circle,
And everyone's offered a turn:
We offer a place,
We offer a song.
Come in and sit down, and learn.

She got beyond the door,
        She reached for harmony.
        The circle is turning,
        And now here we are --
        Won't you come filking with me?

Gone filkin'
                Gone filkin'
                The song was always the same.
                Gone filkin'
                Gone filkin'
                You know we're glad that you came.

So we sing, so we sing.
One family all joined in song.
So we sing,
So we sing.
So we sing as one at last.

lyrics, filk
