Rhyming Poem

Sings sweetly in my ear,
And darling daughter of my heart,
Our time grows short, I fear,
So hold tightly to this lullaby,
Hold tightly, always knowing
That even as we say good-bye,
My heart is never going.
The siren song of going
Is one I can't ignore;
It's walked me through a life of
Leaving lovers on the shore,
So hold tightly to this lullaby,
Hold tight and keep believing,
That even as we say good-bye,
My heart is never leaving.
The siren song of going
Is bitter-sweet, it's true;
It keeps me bright, and keeps me young,
It carries me from you.
So hold tightly to this lullaby,
Hold tightly to the yearning,
For even as we say good-bye,
I'm dreaming of returning.
