Remembering that I start my personal year with November first, because it amuses me to do so, here's my year so far.

November.
Nothing yet. Probably the standard Orphan's Thanksgiving, because we can, and because it's fun. Planned travel, none. Planned travel expenses, none.

December.Nothing yet. Given that Conflikt will be looming, I may ( Read more... )

Your publisher is Daw, right? Pretty sure I saw a booth from them this year.

Yup, I'm with DAW. Whether they plan on having a booth in 2009, and whether they'd want me at the booth, is another question.

Pretty sure they usually have one, so the first is pretty likely to be yes; dunno about the second, though, not being a DAW employee or anything :)

Also, APE will be in November this year. It's a top priority for me, as I will be shopping around my comic scripts, but probably less so for you. But I do recall seeing you at APEs past.

DAW doesn't booth. If DAW boothed you can bet I'd be at ComicCon stalking Eric Kripke.

Penguin does though and since DAW is distributed by Penguin there's presence. Mostly consisting of signs, the Penguin person who covers DAW publicity/promotion (among other things) and this year they had DAW samplers. (which according to said Penguin person, went like hotcakes... or free things at ComicCon)

I'd honestly suggest you look into World Fantasy Con for 2009... It's in San Jose, it's relatively intimate as far as conventions go, and it's chock-freaking-full of authors, editors, agents, publishers, and fantasy fans. For someone with a new/relatively new book out who wants to market herself and network, I can't recommend it enough.

November 5-8.

Thankfully, that falls outside the scope of the year I'm staring fixedly towards. I'm actually planning on World Fantasy for exactly those reasons!
