Ten things that make me happy by existing.

Yesterday's glee over my new My Little Pony purse caused me to stop and contemplate physical belongings -- what I have, what I've acquired on purpose, what's been given to me -- and realize that sometimes, what gives me joy is entirely out of proportion with how much effort went into obtaining it. These are ten things that make me happy by ( Read more... )

You are certainly loved, and the fact that you love something that I sent you makes me feel loved, so YAY for big love circles!

Unexpected things are awesome, because sometimes you just catch sight of them and think 'oh, wow, _____ loves me.' Only right now, I'm carrying my bag to work like, every day, so I get a lot of 'oh, wow, Bob loves me' moments.

gnomi just knitted me a sonic screwdriver. It's become my new favorite thing rather quickly. (Yes, a knitted sonic screwdriver. She's brilliant.)

Aliza and I have a matching set BSG dogtags (one each for Helo and Athena) that I had intended to get when we got engaged, but weren't available until we'd been married a few months. Aside from my wedding band, they're the closest thing I have to an engagement ring, and I wear them almost all the time. (if DC ever licenses rings for the Blue or Red Lantern Corps that they just introduced, I may actually get those, too...)

My mom made me an afghan before I went off to college, and I still use it. It's warm and soft and fuzzy.

My stuffed puppy, TP. She's been mine since I was a wee one, and has a distinct personality with a tendency to talk to people who aren't always expecting it. I lost TP in the woods once, and was heartbroken for months before getting her back. (Technically, Mom replaced TP. In truth, my puppy found her way home.)

Everything given to me by someone I love/who loves me. Anything with sentimental value rather than monetary value - from plush toys to jewellery to music to books to drawings they have done to something they have personally written.

I couldn't narrow it to under a hundred things if I tried :)

I have an old stuffed dog that I remember was almost always there. It is a mixture between ugly and absolutely cute, it has a damaged and repaired eye and always looks sad. I love that doggy.
