OK, I'll grant that covering the keyboard with velociraptors is much more mad-sciencey, and makes a much better post. But. Is there a compelling reason why you didn't just close the lid of the laptop?

For many laptops closing the lid either sends them into 'sleep mode' (which can mess with some programs) or shuts them off.

Interesting. I think I've been able to configure this behavior (i.e. tell it what, if anything, I want it to do when I close the lid), on my laptops.
