Accidental theater weekend.

So tomorrow, seshat and I are going to see a matinée performance of Little Shop of Horrors in San Jose, an event which has had me all wound up and vibrating for the better part of a week (once I finally woke up enough to get excited). I love this show. I've loved this show since I was a little girl. I've been in this show more times than any other ( Read more... )

Mine's _A Chorus Line_. Saw it on Broadway roughly once a month, which was as often as I could save up my allowance for a half-price ticket, for most of the eighties; drove 90 miles occasionally after that closed to get to a high school performance I'd heard about someplace.

It's been revived on Broadway. My father got me tickets for my birthday, and we're going the week after next. This makes me indescribably happy.

Dude, I am to Jekyll and Hyde that way. I was in it in the chorus, once, and I was SO FOND of the cast and crew... oh man. Just a few notes of Murder Murder is enough to make me wriggle in my seat.

... although I do wonder what it says about me that I'm in love with a song about serial killing.

See, I am passionately in love with Jekyll and Hyde...

...but only in the pre-Broadway version.

'Bring on the Men'. 'Girls of the Night'. The original words to 'Facade'. 'I Need To Know'. I still don't understand how they could have songs that incredible, and leave them on the floor.

When I was in Jekyll, that's the version we did. Girls of the Night is one of the most amazing, delicate tunes. Our director did such a perfect job with it... it gave me shivers and I was IN it.

This is how I am about The Phantom of the Opera. My elementary school music teacher introduced me the music. It was love at first note. I finally saw the musical my 17th birthday, then on my 27th birthday, I saw the movie. Just my luck, the musical just started here and it's playing for almost a month, but I am flat broke.

I hope you, aiglet, and seshat have fun!

The first time I saw Phantom, I was so amazed to actually be in the audience that I started to cry.

Aww... My mindset was, "Pinch me, I'm dreaming." Then when I saw the movie, during Erik's "insolent boy" line in Christine's dressing room, I remember thinking, "This is the Phantom. Movie." Just totally blown away by the significance of it.

Yay! I'm so glad for you and Kate both. :)

The equivalent theater for me is Into the Woods.

Have fun!

I'm another Into the Woods lover. I will see any production I can. (If Weird Romance showed up more often, I'd be chasing that, too.)

I've played Little Red three times, and it never gets old.

Jealousy has just killed me dead.

I hope that it is a well-put on production, and that you enjoy it tremendously!

Their Colin was terrible, but the rest of the show was fantastic!
