Sometimes being a picky eater sucks.

I am one of the world's pickiest eaters. When asked to describe my eating habits, I either say 'I eat like a six-year-old' or 'I don't eat like a human', and, depending on the situation, either statement is equally correct. What I like, I am willing to eat to the exclusion of nearly everything else. I once ate the same rotating set of three ( Read more... )

I'm picky too, though less so. Can you ask for certain dishes without something, or with only X, Y and Z? I *hate* bell peppers, they make anything with them 'not food', and I often do this. Waitstaff may not like it, but they'll do it. If necessary, the word 'allergy' helps.

Probably not a new idea, but..

Unfortunately, with the WW meals, they come pretty much 'as is' -- they're like fancy microwave meals, and the components can't be split apart. And Applebee's, since they so-very-kindly offer WW-branded options, pretty much goes 'ha ha' at the idea of serving anything else that fits my diet.

Everywhere else, I am the queen of the custom order. The undisputed queen.

My roommate's brother has a list of 11 things he will eat. That's it. So you're not the only one.

Me, I like food. I've gotten less picky since being on a diet (I've lost 75+ lbs so far) and been more willing to experiment. But I have been known to get an obsession and eat it for a few days or for a while. Then I burn myeslf out on it and don't want to eat it for a long time.

I pretty much eat the same thing breakfast, lunch and dinner when home. When out, I'm on a See-food diet. Then I go back to being good to take off what I put on.

It really sucks when a place you've been going to for years stops selling the only product you can stand to use. It doesn't happen very often with food for me (I'm an omnivore) but it happens all the time with clothes and shoes.

I am also very picky and extremely unlikely to enjoy anything that is outside my narrow tastes, so I feel your pain. I always get a bit of a panic attack if a restaurant doesn't have a chicken burger on the menu.

Of course, I very much doubt my diet is as healthy as yours, because one of the major entries on my do-not-eat list is vegetables (excepting carrots, spinach, and lettuce) and I have a vast fondness for many forms of carbs.

The fact that monsters keep eating the challah is rather remarkable, isn't it?
