Dear Seanan, did I never warn you that it's traditional, with my songs, never to have had the whole band in the same place actually rehearsing together before the gig? Well, alright, not never. it just certainly *is* traditional to have a seat-of-the-pants / skin-of-the-teeth situation... and often, that's what flies.

Well, although I missed that memo, I seem to have kept up the tradition! And done it rather proud, with the band we put together. If I could play with these people every day, I'd die happy.

I'm glad the buttons did their job. :-) My hope was that they'd basically act as a talking point, letting us explain quickly to the bulk of the folks why mugging you with hugs could result in puddle of blonde in pain in the floor. Yay for labelling minions!

Thanks for this. This is first conrep I've read this year that actually makes me imagine being at the con... and makes me want to prepare the one in February.

Hmmm... Is the art of the inspiring conrep dying out? [IS A LITTLE WORRIED]

I wonder about that sometimes. LJ and other blog services let you toss up the details NOW RIGHT NOW, while you're still glowing from the convention...and then there's no real need to go back and flesh out. Plus, there's more chance that the person you forgot to mention will read your journal and be disappointed. Better to just not be comprehensive.

Makes me sad.
