Random-ass facts that verge on being meaningless.

10. I like to read 'The Long Walk', by Stephen King, while taking long walks. 'The Long Walk' is about a game show-like endurance test where a hundred boys start walking, and keep walking, without rest, until all but one are dead. I find this oddly soothing. If I knew why, it would probably disturb me ( Read more... )

Sorry, confusing referent; he has been writing X-Men [ calling it "adjectiveless" was an unthinking referent from a different context ] since #188, I've not read it myself and I have been wondering if you had and what you thought, as I have loved much of Carey's other work. { Lucifer in particular. ]

I finally got sucked into SPN fandom, but I'm not sure whether you will want to read the fics that have resulted or not, because I fell into the Very Black Hole that is Supernatural slash, and I seem to recall reading your opinion of that some while back.

And somehow there's a gathering of shippers at my house tonight. When did I become a social animal again?

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo thank you. I have serious anti-Wincest issues (which have nothing to do with your kink being your kink, and if it makes people happy to write it, then go forth and slash, little slashers, be free, and everything to do with my 'all characters must be in-character at all times' issues, which are mine and mine alone).

That's rather what I thought I heard you say before, yeah. :)

anti-Wincest

I know what you meant, but the Bill Gates/Steve Ballmer image that phrase conjured up was just too horrible to keep to myself.

I don't mind revisionist X-history...

Which is rather a given, since you A) read the title and B) don't spend years of subjective time bitching about the hack jobs they perform every time their profits drop they switch writers/decide to launch yet another title.

Babylon has killed all her crickets, and is now looking at me like this is somehow my fault. I wish she were smart enough to understand that when you eat the crunchy headparts of your meal, but not the rest, the meal goes bad and you go unfed.

If she just ate the heads, you're obviously trying to placate the wrong urge. She's horny, not hungry.

Many people who bitch about hack jobs would have a lot more credibillity if they stopped buying the issues they are displeased with.

"This is the sixth month I have been displeased with Uncanny X-Men!"

I agree. Which is why I'm mostly lost when cadhla talks about current events. I got out of comics because I couldn't afford my habit (30+ monthly titles). When I looked at getting back in, I was too annoyed at Marvel to give them any cash, though I will admit that I still pick up graphic novel compilations of the older stuff.

Scans_daily is a great way to keep an eye on the current comic landscape. You can see which character DC has horribly mistreated/killed, you can find homosexual slash galore and oodles of cuteness. Plus, if my Photobucket is still running, naked Tony Stark fighting a naked man is in the archives somewhere.

The green miniskirt thing with the facemask Jean used to wear was the bomb. It looked good against her red hair, disguised her face, worked well in battle and bonus, didn't have any Phoneix symbology.

I want to see The Long Walk turned into a film but I'm afraid they will butcher it ala 'The Running Man'. Of course, if they could explain the ending to me...well, I'd be happy.
