School can be so annoying!

I'm currently taking 2 classes. My Monday class is web graphics, basically an introductory PhotoShop course without a lot of photo manipulation because of school politics between the computer department and the art department. I hate to burst your bubble but DB designers don't get paid that well, unless you are willing to do and MBA and become a It project Manager then the money rolls in.
I get paid $28 p/h before tax, and that is with a university degree in Software eng and 8 years experience.
However it is a geat skill to learn as databases are powerful things, bosses are always impressed when you pull out information form nowhere, great way to get a promotion!

There's all my bubbles bursting. Silly teacher talking about the great money - he just wants us to take more db classes!

I have heard that network is the hot career to be in these days. We'll see - I'll try to take that intro course next semester. I have a feeling it's not my cuppa tea though...

Network Admin IS a Drone job, If you want REALLY good money then Security expert is the way to go, but prepared to loose your life.
They are LONG hours and there are no courses for it you need to spend all your time online hacking sites.
I'm not wired that way I couldn't think of anything more dull, but that is where the money is.
Or a job as a 3D animator (going to art school).
Sorry to pop your bubbles, but I wanted you to have a realistic outlook. If you want more qualifications become a MSCE (microsoft certified engineer) it is rote learing muliple choice answers does't really give you the skills for the job but it will get you the job. YOu can do a course about $1000 or you can self learn from the books ($250).

MCSE? I think that's what Beatle just got and why he got his promo and why he is now working so many more hours. :-( I hope he's getting lots more money for it too...
