My almost-sugar-free red velvet cake turned out well, I thought--next time I will bake it a few minutes less, but still, not bad. The icing came out a bit less fluffy than when I made it with _becquerel_, possibly from a lower fat content, but it was still tasty. People seemed to like it at the dessert potluck ( Read more... )

The Inferno was, as far as I can tell, a bit less packed than usual. We came home when the smoke really started to get to me. It would have been nice to see you though, and I'm glad your birthday was good.

And the smoke is the bad part of the Inferno--I guess Maple Bluff isn't affected by the smoking ban? It really irritates my allergies, too.

The smoking ban ONLY affects the city of Madison. Not the town, not fitchburg, not maple bluff, not monona, not middleton...

That's one of the big parts of the problem with it.

It is now technically my ACTUAL birthday, although I wasn't born until the afternoon. I'm almost finished with my afghan, whee. :D
