Wrong side of the percentage.

Well, here is the latest in the round of low-percentage-quite-rare-can-we-study-your-child conditions:

Boo is colorblind.  Or actually color deficient, meaning he does not see mid to low range hues of red and green.  Mostly he sees blue and yellow.  (No wonder blue is his favorite color.)  From the sites I've seen, it's roughtly up to an 8% chance ( Read more... )

So when you say Boo is one in a million, you're being literal? :)

I think I would have had the same initial reaction about the color deficiency. Would it help to tell you my multi-millionaire boss is color blind? It doesn't seem to bother him that he can't see the green hues of his money. :D I think Boo will also work chance/percentages to his favor. :)

Yup. He's Special! :D

It does help to hear of others who have it. Apparently my dad had it to a lesser degree and I never knew! My younger brother, who worked with him at his shop (mechanic), said he had trouble with wiring and had special tinted glasses.

How are you? I've been whizzing through the f-list and noticed your last couple of posts have not been in the range of happy and content. This must change! *sends happy healing vibes*

Oh Boo. <3

On another hand, apples? Best line ever about apples:

"Wanna toss me another apple in about another year or so?" ;)

Oh btw, did you end up getting my message?

Oh, you just made me smile. A narcisistic little grin, but a smile all the same. :)

I did get your message. This morning. I was out cold when you called, it's been a busy week. I'll call this weekend if you're not swamped with family or traveling for Easter(sometimes that is a better time actually. ;) )

PS: You sound so cute!

I'm glad I made you smile. I actually re-read the last chapter when I went to copy that sentence. That brought a smile to my face. I miss the Trily!

You can totally call me this weekend. I'm actually staying on campus for Easter because I just couldn't leave. So I'll probably be around if you have time to call.

did you ever see Garp and when the plane crashed into the house he's all "We'll take it!" because he was conviced it would be super safe because what are the odds of a plane crashing into it AND something else happening? lol. So I guess Boo is just in for a pretty good life, because all the "what are the odds of THAT?!" stuff has probably already happened. OMG THAT MADE SENSE IN MY BRAIN.

My dad is colourblind too...or colour deficient. ;) He has trouble seeing reds/purples mostly...depending on the shade, he often sees those as red/brown. He found out when he joined the Air Forces and was tested because he wanted to be a pilot. (Obviously he was not allowed and became an Avonic Technican instead) :P But it doesn't affect him that much really which is good, although it amuses my family to tease him by making him look at those tests with the blue circles with yellow number in it which he can't see either....:P (And yes I totally bookmarked the test to make him look at when he visits...he's coming tonight!! :D)

HAHAHA! Glad I could help!!

Yeah, for the most part, he shouldn't have any problems, and it really sheds light on why he absolutely HATED all the coloring he had to do in Kindergarten. :P
