Jeb's always been uncomfortable around DG's parents. Maybe it's because her mother is the freakin' QUEEN. Or just because he knows that they know he and DG have been doing things they probably shouldn't.
At least not before they're married.
And being invited on a "man's weekend", with her father and his, wasn't helping. Neither man implied that he wasn't going to come home from the trip, having suffered some horrific accident with a fishing lure, but he wasn't going to let his guard down.
After all, DG was the future queen of the Outer Zone.
He really didn't need to hear from his own father about how his parents hadn't waited until their wedding night. Nor did he need to hear the same from DG's father.
Adora was kneeling down in front of a girl no more than five annuals when a uniformed Wyatt entered the studio. The other ballerinas - also no older than seven - all looked his way and started giggling, which made Wyatt feel ridiculously uncomfortable. Glancing around, he noticed a group of mothers sitting off the one side, also watching him. He let out a low groan, but forced a smile and nodded to the ladies, then turned away to avoid their stares.
Why was everyone staring at him? It wasn't like he never appeared in public in his uniform
( ... )
Adora was still staring at Wyatt, her mind already in show-mode, thinking about lines, lights... costumes. As soon as she realized her eyes had drifted to his belt, though, Adora realized how inappropriate her actions were, regardless of the intention.
Blinking, clearing her throat and looking everywhere but at Wyatt, Adora rocked on her heels slightly and prayed she wasn't blushing. "Hello, Mister Cain," she finally managed. "I'm sorry," she quickly corrected, nodding to him. "Officer Cain."
"Wyatt," he replied, still not sure what it was she had been thinking, though he was sure it was better he didn't know.

Adora raised her eyes to the sky and shook her head. With a heavy sigh, she turned on Wyatt and marched herself and the bread dough back inside the house.
"Dor!" he called after her, but she was fast and already inside the cabin.
Letting out a heavy Ancient curse, Wyatt put his sap-covered boot down on the underside of the sap-covered axe blade and tried to pull himself free. He had to remember to move his foot a moment later, before it was stuck, too.
The sap was already hardening in the fresh air and his arm was killing him.

Nothing.
"Dor!"
Still nothing,
"ADORA!"
"WHAT?!" Adora yelled back, thumping onto the porch, flour all over her face and bread dough in her hands ( ... )

And she was just going to leave him there.
