I honestly wish they'd figured out a way to tell Sam this on the show, but then again, I guess things went the way they were supposed to. Sigh. Had me in tears...

Me too. It really bothered me how all of S4 was summed up at 'Sam's fault'. But yeah, all for the sake plot. I'm glad you liked it though.

That was all heartbreaking and beautifully insightful into Sam's feelings. Dean's reactions to Sam's pain were so believable, and I simply loved his little walk down the memory lane of Winchester domestic life. It made a lot of sense that Dean would have learned the soft side of love from Mary.

I know, right?? That softer side was a sticking point for me when I first started watching. How could John and Dean be so tight-lipped (obviously I haven't yet realized how deep Dean really runs ;) ) and Sam so emotionally open? And this was the conclusion I was finally happy with, exactly what you said - that he learned it from Mary. And, in being Sam's primary caretaker, passed it on to him. Anyway, I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

Very powerful. It doesn't provide easy answers just a moment or two of comfort between two people who love each other desperately, but have come to place where the whole damn Grand Canyon is between them. You do an excellent job of showing that dichotomy(sp?).
Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you! That seems to be the eternal state of being between our brothers, doesn't it? Always at odds but sticking it through out of love. Thanks for reading :)
