Saturday 31st October - Samhain greetings...

Happy halloween - though I haven't really got that joy-of-being-spooked feel about me, I have to say. I should be reading spooky Pros fic or something, but instead I was trying to think of all the things I need for my new place before we're locked down again next week... *headdesk*

No spooks or things going bump in the night here (unless you count the ladder getting blown around; we got wise to this some months ago and chain it against the wall when it gets windy now so it was rattling its chains *bg*

Luckily got a batch of work done on Friday, so I'm actually having a weekend off for once :-)

Oh I dunno, I think a ladder rattling its chains is pretty good for a windy Halloween night! *g*

Yeay for your weekend off too - I reckong you deserve one, and I hope you enjoyed it!

I'm just impressed you found anyone actually working in Curry's. My last three expeditions to three different ones I haven't managed to score a human being to speak to once. Plus no stock... something tells me they aren't long for this world.

The pics are great - love the leaves, and yay for managing to get the blue moon. I saw it, but by the time I'd run inside to grab a camera it'd gone all shy.

Oh I was jumped on in this one - not allowed to go and look at the shelf myself, I was directed to the two tellers, who had no clue what I was looking for. One chap then came with me to try and find it, and would not keep his distance, to the point that I had to ask him to back off a bit! There wasn't much stock out at this branch either - but they did have what I wanted out back. By the time I got through all their faffing though, I didn't want it from them... There's a bit of me that wishes they weren't long for this world - trouble is, there aren't really any alternatives around, if you actually want to look at something before you buy it... *sighs* Not quite sure how it's worked out that the government that's touted "competition! competition! competition!" in everything as a way of giving people more choice ended up ruling over a country of businesses effectively monopolising their fields and decreasing our choice... Hmmn...

I think I was lucky with that moon - that was the last glimpse of it I had!

That hadn't even occurred to me, that it might be too cold to be painting, even indoors. And I heard about you going back into lockdown. Actually, considering how our numbers are going up, I wouldn't be at all against us doing the same. But too many stupid people thinking that they have the right to, well, be stupid.

It's the damp air rather than the temperature, for the painting. Even when it's not raining it's still quite moist...

We're sort of going into lock down. A massive great swathe of the population isn't going to be locked down as such, they're going to be free to mingle with each other, and then go back to give their families whatever bugs they've picked up by mingling, so I'm not entirely convinced this is going to work out as the PM seems to think... *sighs* Good luck with yours - can only hope for a major sea change soon...

I went out and looked at the moon last night. It was slightly cloud covered and looked very appropriately spooky for Halloween!

It was a pretty fab moon - although it vanished not long after I took this pic (but then so did I, into the warm inside... *g*) I do like it when the weather joins in with the festivities though... *g*
