Saturday 31st October - Samhain greetings...
Happy halloween - though I haven't really got that joy-of-being-spooked feel about me, I have to say. I should be reading spooky Pros fic or something, but instead I was trying to think of all the things I need for my new place before we're locked down again next week... *headdesk*
I finally found someone who knows about paint (and they were not in Trowbridge - stoopid place with a ridiculous road system and useless shop assistants. No really - imagine someone who works in PC World not knowing what Oculus Quest is!) and although they recommended suitable paint, they also eventually admitted that if it was them, they'd wait until next summer to paint even the interior. Which is where my googling and thoughts had been taking me, so - I guess that's the decision! I will move into my office (once the electricity and lights are in) unpainted - and then I will at some point move out of it next summer, paint it, and move back in again. *sighs*
I did at least find bark, which I'm going to experiment with as a (very short!) path to my new compost bin, and see how that goes. And I found secateurs, although not, oddly, a rake or a square spade!
I did not manage to buy my 2020 treat, which was going to be the Oculus Quest 2 Virtual Reality headset, to hopefully help me survive no holidays, not even any weekends away, and now another month of lockdown... I know you have to sign in with Fb which I hate, but since I have one now anyway - the Fb I mean - I just decided to go for it. But I psyched myself up to go spending, and then failed to buy the VR! Honestly, I swear the worst customer service I've ever experienced has always been at Currys/PC World, and the Trowbridge branch outdid itself today. I was just not going to give them what for me is alot of money!
I did not manage to get more than a very little bit of work done either - disappointing after what felt like a mammoth session yesterday... Which means more work to do tomorrow... *sighs again*
I had hoped to wander the village and see what Halloween-y displays were up, but I got back too late for that. So just a few pics today. Started out with lashings of rain...
But it was still autumn.
The blue moon shone in a halloween-ish way over my wee house...
...and the spooks played happily in the fairylights! *g*
