Late again...

Random visit to Weymouth on Sunday, cos it was a beach that I'd never been to, and not much further away than the other beaches I usually go to. Plus it promised sand.

Are things generally starting to slow down for fall in your garden? Some of my flowers are still blooming like crazy, but some are already getting ready to sleep.

Sorry about the writing. Been there, done that. I'm not pushing my self on that front right now because of being pressed for time. All three of the stories I have in mind are going to need quite a bit of research, even if only for background, so I'm waiting until I get back to even think about starting anything.

Hmmn, yes and no. Most of the flowers are still going, though not as fresh as they were. The poppies have long been sleeping, but they only last a couple of days anyway, sadly.

The writing thing sucks - it seems like I want to write whenever I can't, and whenever I have the time to write, words just don't come... I'm not surprised your writing is on the back burner for a while - you have fun, busy things to be getting on with! *g*

Love the pics of Weymouth... I never go there any more because it's so darn busy! The tippy end of that pier is where my dad went the day WWII began... he said he sat on the end fully expecting a German submarine to rise up in front of him!

I'm glad you've managed to get some free days with this gorgeous summer heat - isn't it bliss?

Yeah, I think that's why I've avoided Weymouth so far - seaside resort, bound to be hugely busy! I want to go up to Weston-super-Mare and see the sand sculptures again, but ditto... maybe when the schools are back! Mind you, better busy families and kids than an enemy submarine, I guess! *g*

The summer heat is a little bit bliss, but I wouldn't mind it turned down just a degree or two. Then it would be bliss. *g*

I've been to Weymouth! There were deck chairs to hire, and donkey rides, and a Punch and Judy show, and that line of gelato-coloured huts along the sand's edge... just the quintessential English beach, I thought! And it was from Weymouth that I could see the chalk horse-and-rider, if you stood facing the water then turned and looked away to your left.

That does look like a bud on your sunflower. Fingers crossed.

Wow - as I drove past the beach, I saw deck chairs and particularly remarked (to myself) on the Punch and Judy show! I didn't know they really still existed on beaches!

D'you know, now you've said that about seeing a white horse from Weymouth, my memory is going jog-jog-jog... I have a feeling that I have driven along the Weymouth front before, but coming down from going past the white horse, and I sort of turned around and headed back up towards it again and stopped that time and took pics... which are somewhere in my lj, I suspect...

And fingers crossed! Even without the flower yet, I was rather impressed to see that that bud at the top is turning through the day to follow the sun - how cool is that? *g*

My day at Weymouth here. I am supposed to be getting ready for work; instead I've just had a marvellous trip down memory lane, reliving my last big adventure. Only ten months until I get to do it all again :-)

That Punch and Judy stand is still there, I really noticed it as I went past! And look - white horse with a rider! I wish I'd looked back enough to have seen that (though I'm pretty sure it's the one I remember stopping to take a picture of, years ago)! And hurrah only-ten-months-until-your-next-adventure! *g*

Weymouth looks very blue. I approve of the blue. And it has sand. What's that like then? I'm from Surrey originally, so days at the beach invariably meant pebbles at Brighton. Sand was only for exceptional days when we were very good on the train and were allowed to stay on 'til Bognor.

Your sunflower does look very much like it's thinking about a flower. I like the symmetry of the once-was poppy (and will be again, because of the seeds inside it. *nods sagely*) I very much like the once-and-future poppy. :-)

Weymouth was rather blue, in fact! *g* It's mostly pebbly beaches around here too. I made the mistake of wearing my Crocs when I went to Hive beach last time, forgetting it was tiny pebbles, and ow-ow-ow! Less-holey footwear required! *g*

The once-and-future-poppy - yes! Because that's exactly why I've left them waving gently in the breeze, to save their seeds for next year! *g*
