Virtual Office Thursday 13th August

Aug 13, 2015 11:31

Back to the ordinary Virtual Office... I had a cunning plan for yesterday's virtual office, which was to take the day off Job 1 and dedicate it instead to Writing Virtual Office! This was slightly scuppered by going to bed at 2am the night before, so that I started even later, and then having many other niggling tasks that niggled at me to get done ( Read more... )

space and time, wonderful things

Work. I know it pays the bills, but really... I'm lucky as well, because I love what I do and I like the people I work with, they're friends as well as colleagues, and I am sent to some amazing places that I would never get to otherwise - but it don't 'alf get in the way sometimes! Hope the hair-fix goes well (?) and wow! for Perseids.

I used to love what I did, but what with the tangle of funding/supervisors/parental-moving etc. I ended up making do for a while, and haven't got back on track from that... I'd much rather your kind of job getting in the way of life!

You should watch out your plane window if you're flying at night - now thatwould be something to see - Perseids from an aeroplane...

Good idea! My flight is at 21:20 tomorrow evening from Heathrow. Fingers crossed it's clear weather, although I'm not sure of the flight path we'll take - presumably just out East over the top of Europe (eek).

The Perseids were pretty dang cool on this side of the pond as well! Didn't see a double (so cool!) but plenty and enough singles to keep me happy. Had incredible weather for it as well, for once: no clouds and no moon either, which was wonderful. I'm too close to A MAJOR CITY for a truly good sky, but I could just pick up the Milky Way last night. Reminded me of childhood nights spent with my dad on a blanket in the back yard, learning the constellations *g*

Best luck with the hair, you will look lovely!!

Oh that's brilliant - and pretty good if you can pick out the Milky Way. There's light pollution around here too, but the Milky Way's up there... and lots of cloud tonight, and finally some spatterings of rain - we'd been promised it all day, and it seems to have gone around us completely!

My hair looks short again - but I can see! How lush to be able to see without your eyes being stabbed by many wee pointy things... *g*

I set my alarm for 2am, but alas, nothing. It was very slightly overcast.
My time in Germany is melting away fast, and I feel I've been working very hard most of the time, getting my parents set up, so they can stay in their flat as long as possible. It's been pretty successful, though, I'm happy to say. My family tells me, I'm the only one who can convince my mom to change her mind. ;)
Must mean I'm even more stubborn and have to be careful myself, when I get to be that age. *g*
Good luck with writing! I'm going to visit the round robin now, since I'm spending the next 5 hours on a bus to meet my sister and cousins.

Hello! I've been wondering how you're getting on, and I was just thinking of you yesterday - you always seem to do that, post somewhere as soon as I start thinking I've not seen our Siskiou around for ages... *g* You sound like you've been busy, and hopefully happy as well. Eeep for five hour bus journeys, too! Have a wonderful visit! Hope the Round Robin keeps you going for a bit. I wanted to add to it tonight, but I've fallen into bad working-late-after-frittering-the-day-away habits again. I don't know how it happens though, I used to get so much more done in this many hours...

Happy rest-of-your-holiday-time!

Oh wow, double Perseids, how cool is that? I so envy you.
Denmark is a pretty good place to watch them, but going to bed around nine thirty didn't help very much. *gg*

We have the most wonderful weather and spending our day at this kind of adventure park again, this time with bathing stuff and using the pool, too.
And boating again, and riding go carts, watching birds and exploring the lakes and bridges...
We rescued a bird which was caught in the swimming hall, a newt and a lizard, which swam in the pool. The bird flew away, I don't know if the other two survived the chlorined water though.... I'll have a look later, where I left them at and in one of the ponds...

Far as I'm concerned hats and beards is a great look for our lads :) Good luck with your re-hair!

It just somehow works on our lads, doesn't it... I'm sure they should wear frilly flouncy clothes with long leather boots far more often... Okay, you can't see the boots here, but I can see them in my mind... *g*
