You'd think it'd be easy enough to find a *bin* wouldn't you? Except that I've noticed myself that normal household stuff is not as easy to locate as you might think these days. I remember it taking us over a week to locate a new loo brush for instance.
Like you I'm rather attuned to odd noises and that kind of stuff. It's easy to dismiss during the day, not so easy in the early hours and you're on your own.
I will email you soon, promise. Hectic at the moment. Was going to catch up on my email today but the grandson is ill and we have him for the day so... I also rather suspect that you're far too busy for social visits at the moment?
Loving, loving, loving Philip and Nico. No words. Yum.
Honestly, I couldn't believe it was so difficult to find a bin! To be fair there was a grey plastic one in Tesco that could have done, but I didn't want grey, and it seemed as if there should surely be more choice than that! One thing I have come across mind, are lots of loo brushes - maybe that was the problem, they're all up around here, and the bins are... somewhere else. Maybe you've got a surfeit of... dish drainers? *g

Oh, wow, I remember the yearbooks we would get every year from the encyclopedia company. Two of them, in fact. One regular, one just science. I don't remember when we finally stopped buying them, but it was far too late to not be stuck with a set of books we didn't use. I think my sister still has the encyclopedia, but I managed to talk her in to getting rid of the yearbooks.
It sounds like things are coming along, slowly but surely. It's hard to imagine a hardware store not having bins, but there you go.
And you might think about a curtain for your door. Keep the monsters at bay. *g*
Your icon completely threw me! I've not seen anyone else using that icon ever, I don't think, so when I scrolled down quickly to see where I was, I got all confused thinking I didn't think I'd replied to comments yet! Eventually I actually paused to actually read the comment, and saw that it wasn't me after all... *g*
And nooooo for getting rid of the yearbooks! I'm actually dead chuffed that I have all the Pros-era ones - and yes! the Yearbooks and Science and the Future! I have every intention of using them... *g*
I'm going to have a final push this weekend, and get more shelves made up and boxes emptied - I am, I am! And who knows, I might even come across a bin somewhere... that was very bizarre, the one thing I thought I'd find easily enough!
Good idea about the curtain - I did actually have one left in a packet, and now it's up, so there are only the odd thumps and squeaks to ignore! *g*
i am glad to see you have made progress but what a pity about the house hold items requiring you to do alot of running around but glad you got there in the end x
It would have been much easier if they'd had everything I wanted in one place, but hey-ho! I'm going to have a final push to finish the rest of the flat-packs this weekend, and put away boxes, and be more like home! *g*
I'm amazed! That encyclopedia is taking up a whole tall shelf! Mr. Siskiou loved his parents' encyclopedia, and read his way through all of them as a grade schooler. Have to ask him, if his had anything about werewolves! I can just see imagination taking over, at night and in a new place!
And no bins?! How strange!
Your desk/shelf corner looks really nice.
How is the heat in your new space? Hopefully it's only cold outside. We have the woodstove installed, but have to wait for the inspection next week, before we can use it. Maybe we can light it for the first time on M's birthday next Thursday. :)
I love the encyclopaedia... *g* The top shelf is the red Children's Britannica, then there's the Micropaedia Ready Reference and Index, and when you need really in-depth information you go to the Macropaedia. *g* Then every year we had the Yearbook and Science and the Future - I'm really looking forward to reading some of them, actually, cos you forget what it wasn't like, sometimes! Also, they're all the Pros-era years! *g
