Dear Hermione,
Hi. I hope your summer is going well and that you are enjoying the sunshine as well as studying. I know we'll probably be seeing each other in a few weeks at Hogwarts for revision if not earlier but I wanted to write to you before that.
I don't think I'll ever be able to say thank you enough for blasting Greyback the way you did. My memory is a little fuzzy about it but I was aware of lying there broken and of the attack. It rather haunts me. Still thanks to your fast reflexes I am here today and not lying in a grave savaged to death.
Now that things are calmed down I also wanted to mention the Ron situation. I won't pretend that Ron didn't mean a lot to me - he did for a time though I am well over him now. I won't pretend that I wasn't crazy jealous of you during our sixth year because that was pretty obvious. It isn't a pretty emotion to feel on the inside.
I was pretty angry at him for a while but having had the chance to reflect on it all I don't feel that Ron used me in order to get to you so much as I was there and fancying him a lot and he wanted a girlfriend - or the idea of a girlfriend - but not me really. My pride was hurt over the whole incident and if there is one thing common to lions and lionesses it's pride.
Anyway, no hard feelings at all about the two of you being together now. You were so close all through school, even when you were not speaking to each other, that it was quite an obvious thing you'd get together. I wish both of you all the best for the future whatever that works out to be.
Do say hello to Ginny, Ron and Harry for me when you see them.
