The other night I came the closest I ever have to using my AP Calculus. I say "AP Calculus" because I mean the class specifically, not the subject - I doubt 10,000 people in the whole country do pen-and-paper calculus on a given day, not counting students. I think you should totally go for the Latin job. I think you'd really enjoy it, even if it would involve a bit of legwork in the meantime. -- the most satisfying things in life often do. Plus, you could make everyone in your classes pick ridiculous Latin names (like left-leggus) and make them watch I, Claudius.

Latin names and chances to shine are definite. I would like to do Marvel-style "origin stories" for the various weirdo gods (and heroes), too. Like, tell the kids the myths and have them draw actual comic books.

Also, I... have devised a dance for the first declension (a sort of "YMCA" set to the alphabet song). If done right, it should be very, very hard to forget.

Plus I would get to talk about comparative linguistics in a hazy way, which is perfectly suited to my limited knowledge of the subject.

I'd like to go on the record as saying that I would love it if you were my Latin teacher.
