11. SIMON HUGHES: One of the less vile members of the House of Commons, previous incumbent in the constituency held by Potter. Like Potter, has dreadful taste in ties, was a Lib Dem, had fits of passionate civic enthusiasm, and "plays for both teams".

Brilliant. I love this story so, so much.

*grins* thank you. Just right now I was reading that Simon Hughes is a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Archaeology group, the big geek. Heeee.

I must find a way to use the phrase "ticky-box accident" in regular conversation. You, madamoiselle, are an exquisite enabler.

Yeah, and I once had a farm in Zimbabwe. PWNZ.

The incident on the Long Terrace with the bottle of gin and that song about raindrops DETAILS PLEASE!

Everyman's Library luxury cloth-and-gilt volumes I feel a surge of lust coming on. Excuse me.

So adore the base of hard reality on which this lovely instalment rests, like a fine patina covering the children in Indonesian sweatshops.

Did I say exquisite anywhere? If not, EXQUISITE!

Isn't Hughes the MP for North Southwark and Bermondsey? (and not the other way around)

Working in Parliament right now and chuckle every time I see Simon - LOVE this fic to bits!!! Definitely my #1 favourite, regardless of fandom <3<3<3
