Ah, the Internet: bringing new forms of guilt

I'm developing "match guilt." It's like TiVO/DVR guilt or Netflix guilt: a mental state created when there's so much of something which requires your attention that you don't have time to properly address it all, which only serves to create a further backlog that requires your attention. why sort? just pick the first 5 (or 10) on the page and send them an email...then cross them off your list if they don't respond and move on to the next five... the chances of every single woman on that list responding to you are miniscule. this way they sort themselves.

I figured part of the process should be me crossing off the ones I'm probably not significantly attracted to. Most likely I wouldn't be interested in all four pages worth, but after reading several profiles in a row they all start to blend together.

I may adopt your strategy as a starting point. Must start somewhere, right?

I agree with rabhairt. Speaking from experience, most of them won't respond, whether you send them an email or not. And thats assuming you're lucky enough that they're all active accounts which is a stretch. So just send a short introductory email to 5 or so at a time, give them a few days to respond, and then move on to the next group. Plus, you should get over your low self esteem thing and stop weeding out the ones that are "too attractive" or who you don't think would be interested in you. How about you let them decide what they might be interested in?
